The full task description will be released online at 9am on Mondays each week, and the deadline to submit task materials will be at 9pm the following Friday. The hotly anticipated leaderboard update and summary of the week will be released on Sunday afternoon on QuidditchUK social media channels.
Each club may make a single submission, so make sure you communicate within your club about who’s submitting your entry. Entries will be judged not only on the end result of the challenge, but also how well you document the process behind your task completion. Please allow for some time to upload any video evidence via the Google Form.
There is no need for teams to register - all UK clubs are automatically eligible - but you do get points for participation in each challenge, so do join in with as many weeks as you can! (If you're not a QUK club, see our FAQs on how you can get involved.)
Each team will earn 3 points for participating in a weekly challenge.
The winning team will earn 7 points in addition to the participation points (10 points in total).
The second-place team will earn 5 points in addition to the participation points (8 points in total).
The third-place team will earn 3 points in addition to the participation points (6 points in total).
If, at the end of the final week, there is a tie on the leaderboard, multiple club representatives will be invited to participate in a final tiebreaker challenge. This will take the form of a question and the team whose answer is most accurate will be crowned champions.
Each task will take you to the relevant Facebook announcement post, where you can find the form for submitting your entries for each week.
Design and build the British Quidditch Cup using only materials you can find in your household.
Design a version of the national quidditch kit (for England, Wales, Scotland, or Ireland) using Microsoft Paint.
Task 6 will be released on Monday 13th April.
Task 7 will be released on Monday 20th April.
Task 8 will be released on Monday 27th April.
Can non-QUK clubs participate?
Yes! However, please email email@example.com to let us know that you're planning on getting involved before submitting your entries. You will be able to join the leaderboard and receive points for challenges, but you will not be able to receive the BQC trophy if you win due to shipping restrictions.
Who will be judging the tasks?
Each task will be judged by a different QuidditchUK volunteer.
How will the tasks be scored?
Any specific criteria for the tasks will be laid out in the introductory post for each week, but in general tasks will be given higher scores for creativity, effort, teamwork, and how well you have documented the process of completing the task.
If you have any further questions, please get in touch with the team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
I'm having trouble uploading my club's entry to the form.
Please email email@example.com and we'll try to sort out another way of getting your files uploaded to somewhere we can see them.
Can I enter as a separate team?
You may only enter the competition as part of a QUK Club or as part of an international team.
