It is with great pleasure to finally announce that our very own Jay Holmes has taken over the role of Head Coach for Team UK from his predecessor, James ‘JT’ Thanangadan.

Jay has been an irreplaceable part of Team UK since his coaching debut for the national team in 2017, during the European Games in Oslo bringing the gold home. Previously to this, Jay had assisted in the creation of the previously named ‘Development Squad’ (now called: Expansion Squad) at the beginning of the 2016 season, continuing to develop Team UK’s future talent.

The new head coach is no stranger to winning throughout the regular season, as part of Velociraptors Quidditch Club. Over the last two seasons under Jay captaining the team, the Raptors have achieved a podium finish in every major tournament within the UK.

Ahead of this announcement, Jay had this to say in regards to the future of Team UK:

“It’s an absolute honour and a privilege to be appointed as the Team UK Head Coach, getting to this position has been my goal in quidditch for the past four years and to finally accomplish this goals feels amazing. Having worked my way from the bottom rung of the ladder with coaching to now be at the apex feels incredible and I am humbled by the continued faith and belief from the community and those involved in the Team UK set up. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me along this journey so far.

I am looking forward to continuing the great work we have been doing in Team UK and building on our past successes and making improvements where we need them. The team has eyes on the gold medal when we travel for Richmond for the Quidditch World Cup and I will put all my efforts into making this possible.

I am hoping to make Team UK more accessible for our community and have a wide range of plans to ensure that we are all involved in the success of our nation.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and I can’t wait to see the brilliant results Team UK can create.”

Congratulations to you, Jay. We also extend our congratulations to the current athletes at Team UK for banking a fantastically proactive Head Coach for the future. We’ll be behind you every step of the way in Team UK’s journey to the World Cup in Richmond, Virginia (USA) next summer.

This announcement is just the first step as we prepare to host the European Games. For athletes and teams, details such as team and player registration, accommodation, and more will be posted shortly by the IQA. 

To the UK Quadball community, we will need all the help we can get to make this the biggest and best event possible - this is an incredible opportunity to help build the sport and anyone interested in volunteering should get in touch with the IQA or QUK.

London to host IQA European Games 2024

QuadballUK are welcoming three new faces into executive level roles. 


We're excited to have Sam Spencer from Southsea Quadball Club and Gemma Woolliscroft from Olympians Quadball Club join us as Gameplay Director and Secretary respectively! 


Leading Team England towards success is Sebastian Waters as Head Coach. Seb is working alongside Team Manager, Tristan Harris.

After a year in the post, we are sad to say that Alex is stepping down as Vice President.  Alex first came into the position of Vice President whilst still a university student and has since graduated and is stepping away from the role so that she is able to dedicate her time to her job. Thank you Alex for your time in the role and all the hard work you've put towards it! 

With Alex stepping away, this means we are looking for a new Vice President. Alex has the following words to share about the role:

"It’s been an excellent opportunity to build skills for both inside and outside the role and to get more involved with the sport you care about. Building relationships within the community is key to the role and an absolute joy to fulfil as you will get to meet people within and outside of the UK that you never would have otherwise".

Alex steps down as Vice-President

QuadballUK is lead by the executive management team, who oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative work across a number of departments within the organisation. The team meet weekly to discuss recent developments, review and create new policies, and share new opportunities for growth or support to both quadball and our community. All of our members are dedicated volunteers, and work hard to make the sport the best it can be.

2023 has brought a new group of fresh faces and some familiar faces into new roles who are all dedicated to ensuring QUK continues to support the Quadball community.  

We are still looking for a Technology Director to join the team and lead key developments for QUK's website and the various systems we utlilise for membership, souting and scheduling.
