QuidditchUK are today saddened to announce that Simon Bidwell will be stepping back from his role as Communications Director and departing the QuidditchUK Executive Management Team.
Simon has been a volunteer for QuidditchUK since September 2015 when he joined as Communications Director. He has overseen the growth of the Communications department to include the Media, Marketing, and Multimedia teams, and has taken on additional responsibility in maintaining the technology side of QuidditchUK. During his time on the EMT, Simon has managed the entire media output of QuidditchUK, including supporting the tournament committees for every QuidditchUK tournament in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, as well as ensuring all tournament information is communicated effectively to the community. Simon will be continuing in the position until he has finished his current undertakings and a replacement is found, to ensure a smooth transition and handover of responsibilities in time for the 2017/18 season.
Mel Piper, QuidditchUK President said, “Simon has been an incredible asset to QuidditchUK. His drive and determination have seen our communications work improve tenfold, and his innovations and ideas have helped us improve our ability to meet deadlines and work more efficiently as an organisation as a whole. He will be sorely missed.”
